What it does

It generates a fine, branching field that looks like signal — filaments crossing and folding through each other, somewhere between a nerve and a circuit.

Three colours build it and everything else shapes it.

The three colours

Front, mid and back. They sit in depth: back is the ground the field lives on, mid is the body of the filaments, front is where they catch the light.

The defaults are a dark background with a blue mid and white front, and the reason that reads well is contrast between the three. Pick three colours close together in lightness and the structure disappears, no matter how good the individual choices are.

Brightness and contrast

Brightness starts very low, and that's deliberate — this is a background, and the filaments should suggest structure rather than announce it.

Contrast is how sharply the front separates from the back. High makes the filaments crisp and technical. Low makes the whole thing a haze with structure buried in it, which is often the better choice behind text.

These two together do more than the colours do.

Framing

Scale zooms the field. At low scale you get a few broad channels; at high scale a dense mesh. On a wide hero the low end usually reads better, because a dense mesh across a large area turns into visual noise.

Rotation turns it, which matters here because the filaments have direction.

And Speed is the drift, with zero freezing it into a still.

Performance and limits

• Static rendering is handled, so canvas thumbnails and exports show a settled frame rather than a blank box.
